Garden of the Gods Tour Review

Colorado Springs has so much beauty! Garden of the Gods is definitely abounding in it.  If you have yet to go- STOP and go schedule it on your calendar!
Review of Garden of the Gods
I recommend stopping by the Visitor and Nature Center to grab a map if its your first time.  It can get confusing if you don't know where you are going!  The Visitor Center also hosts talks, guided walks (free!), exhibits, events (like Earth Day on April 19), and more throughout the year. Its a great place to check out even if you have been to the Garden before.  There are several hands on exhibits and even a movie.  We went to Bighorn Sheep Day in February this year and loved it.  We enjoyed the Zoo show, seeing how heavy Bighorn Sheep horns really are, doing crafts, learning all kinds of facts, and trying to spot some sheep ourselves.

Can you find this dinosaur in the Visitor Center? You'll want to read the story behind the Camptosaurus!

After the Visitor's Center, start exploring!  There are a ton of places to go.  If you have a stroller or wheelchair, I suggest the Main Parking Lot.  There is a paved path there with a 1 1/2 miles loop.  There are tons of neat formations to see and great picture opportunities.  We often go here with our visitors as you can enjoy so much of the formations right here.

Another quick hike is the Siamese Twins Trail at a mile round trip or try Ridge Trail- only a 1/2 mile loop but a real feeling of being among the rocks.
Wherever you go, you are sure to see something inspiring.  Bring your camera, paints, or photographic memory. There are also 2 designated picnic areas in the park at a first come first serve basis. Bring a lunch or try this great granola bar recipe in case you get hungry on your hike.
